We stopped to look over the Big Indian Gorge, on our way to the final gate which was, as expected, closed. There is a pleasant walk beyond the gate to an intermediate level area that affords views in all directions, so we parked and headed out.
The road cutting has exposed rock faces along its length, and I carried my rock shoes along to try a bit of bouldering.
Phil continued on, waiting for Bryan and me at a bend in the road ahead.
While the two of them continued on, I climbed a short saddle to get a view of Little Blitzen Gorge, and to re-visit something I found several years ago.
