Elk Mountain

The trail along Elk Creek is one of our favorite spots for a nice stroll. It is only about 25 minutes drive from our house, contains a lot of variety and is ever-changing. Today we brought Mema and Papa Jay along.
The first order of business whenever we arrive at the trail head, of course, is to try to coax water out of the pump.
Then as we depart, the passage over Elk Creek demands the sacrifice of pooh sticks, whereupon there is the solemn handing of the stick from one to another of the expedition members.
Ewan found a stone that struck (?) him as the ideal parchment on which to inscribe a map.
