Warwick Castle

We spent the night in Penrith at this lovely guest house, called Brandelhow House. If ever you are in Penrith and need a place to stay, Brandelhow is an excellent choice.

We hopped in the car, and sped south. We made great time and by early afternoon we were approaching Warwick, so we decided to stop at the castle. After parking, we walked along a pleasant pathway, to hand over our £50. We learned that at 2.30 the trebuchet was to be fired (word?), which garnered quite a bit of interest and excitement among the testosterone crowd.

Our first glimpse of the castle itself.

Inside was tourist heaven, including this falconer.

The main building contained weaponry displays, including this one which permits one to feel the weight of a real sword.

Ewan's new favorite place.

We stopped in to see The Queen. Umberto Eco really ought to get his facts straight before making insipid generalizations...

Popped in to see Hank too, with prints of a few of his late wives about on the wall...
