Visit to Pendleton
date: 04 - 06 July 2008 -- updated: 07 July 2008
Here are some sparse, random shots from a short visit we made to see Phil, Linda, Sam and Molly (Bryan is in Germany right now). It was a low-key weekend, due in part to Phil's convalescence from recent surgery, but also because Molly was not feeling well. We ate good food, visited, and Phil and I went on some short walks, as well as a country drive. We ate lunch on Saturday at the Great Pacific, and I was able to regale the proprietor with my tales from the week.
Late saturday afternoon Phil and I drove through the wheat fields and made our way to the top of Cabbage Hill (originally Emigrant Hill) near Deadman's Pass, a foothill of the Blue Mountains, whereupon we decided to take the old highway back to town. It was a hazy afternoon, and we slowly made our way through the canyons and wheat fields with 'Ragpickers Dream' on the sound system. Not much to complain about really.

We saw several deer, including this young buck.

We stopped at one point, got out of the car, and just took in the breathtaking views in all directions.
