Beach Day

Since we're going on an big holiday later this year, we have not taken our usual summer week at the beach, but that doesn't stop us from making the occasional day trip. It is only an hour away...The Oregon coastline is absolutely beautiful, and this day was brilliant. There is nearly always a cold wind to endure, however, so we began the trek in sweaters and windbreakers.
Ewan quickly got into the spirit, practicing his skipping technique...
...and daring the sneaker waves to try to get him. This one did...
The constant wind and brilliant sun (as well as the high tide) made it a perfect day for a little para-surfing.
The wind and sun also make for large stretches of warm, dry sand.
Not too many pelicans out today, but I did notice this one gliding along just above the waves.
Stretch those legs...The hour of confinement in the car has been completely forgotten.
