Steens Mountain

Phil, Bryan and I spent a few days down in the southeastern part of the state, camping and exploring one of our favorite areas. We got a late start due to a broken seat bolt, but made it in time to set up camp at South Steens Campground, where we have stayed several times.
The sky was clear as we drove in and set up camp. After supper, as the sky darkened we sat and stared at the constellations and the Milky Way, as well as numerous satellites passing north to south.
Next morning, it remained mostly clear as we made preparations to head up the mountain.
The weather began to turn as we made our way to higher elevation.
